I’ve been crafty

I’ve been a little crafty lately and have been VERY lax in updating my blog. Lots going on in my personal and professional lives but that is no excuse!

Here are some sneak peeks at some goodies I’ve made recently:

Spring Fling Card Sets Now on Etsy!

As mentioned in my previous post, I found some Pink Paislee papers at my local scrapbook store.

Well, here are (some) of the fruits of my labors. I present “Spring Fling A2 Card Sets” by Amy Kant. Click the images below to see more photos and check out my Etsy store.

These are only 10 of the 30 or so cards I made with the Pink Paislee Spring Fling papers. Stay tuned for more or check out my Etsy Flickr set.

Cool Colors, Cool Thoughts

Here’s a new item in my Etsy shop. You can see the complete set on the right. Doesn’t it come together well?

This “Cool Thoughts” 5-pack features a 6.5×5 inch card stock base, collaged with papers by My Mind’s Eye, stickers, mulberry paper and handmade raffia flowers.

Cool Thoughts is selling for $13.50 plus shipping (WI residents add 5.6% sales tax).

Make sure you check this out and all the other items in my shop. Just click on the image or look for the “Buy My Stuff” link in the sidebar.

Handmade cards

I absolutely love making cards – greeting cards, postcards, note cards, invitations, thank yous, etc…

For awhile I’ve been thinking about starting a small business. I have taken the first step – opening an Etsy shop – and my father and I are exhibiting at a craft/artisan fair in November. I am also looking into selling some religious-themed items on consignment at my church’s bookstore.

Etsy has an Alchemy feature – where people can commission custom handmade work from the Etsy community. I have been looking over some of these solicitations for the past couple days and have almost placed a couple card/invitation-related bids.

I figure, it’s one way to start, right?

You see… some day, I would love to design/make custom, handmade wedding invitations, baby announcements, thank yous, etc.

What is the best way to start?

P.S. Gotta come up with a business card design… ugh.

P.P.S. the images in this post are ATCs (artist trading cards) I’ve made for swap-bot swaps.
