Getting Framed
Here are a few pictures of a frame I made last week. It’s full of vintage goodies. Most of the items are from Kenner Road. Products used are from Pink Paislee, Maya Road, Tim Holtz, Jenni Bowlin and Prima.
I’ve been scrapbooking

It has been ages since I did some good ol’ fashioned traditional scrapbooking. This weekend, I decided to give it a try again… and it was so much fun!
Journaling:
All I wanted to do was give you a bath. I knew you didn’t like water and should have made sure all the dishes were away from the kitchen sink. You freaked out and knocked some dishes into the bathwater. A steak knife fell to the bottom of the sink and you stepped on it, slicing the webbing all the way to the pad of your little foot. You yelped and I got worried. It wouldn’t stop bleeding. I couldn’t stop crying, but you were so brave. We had to take you to the doggie emergency room and you underwent surgery. You were such a brave boy, my little Gizzy. To this day, I will not forget the look you gave me — one that said “Mommy, what did you do to me?” I will never forgive myself for not protecting you from harm. Thank you for still loving me with your sweet, precious hugs and teeny, tiny kisses.

My Goals for 2009
Last week, I saw a little challenge up on the Kenner Road blog:
Take your kit and create a layout about 2009–your resolutions, your hopes, your wishes…just tell me about what you hope 2009 has in store for you.
So, I figured I might as well give it a shot. I don’t believe in resolutions – there’s too much of a cliche attached to them – so I believe in having goals. Here’s my little wall hanging:
Check out my flickr stream for a couple more photos, along with notes, journaling and credits.
playing with new crafty goodness
My Kenner Road Kit and add-ons arrived today, so I’ve been a busy bee making cards and other stuff.
I am loving some of the vintage trinkets this month!
Stay tuned… photos coming soon.
Kenner Road Goodies!
My Kenner Road kit, add-ons and blog win items arrived today and let me just say…
I’m in HEAVEN.
Now the question is… should I let these goodies sit here in my craft room overnight or do I stay up late and play?
I think you can guess what I’ll be doing tonight.
Florida Avenue
Well the Kenner Road Creative Team is giving away a bunch of Vintage Goodies and, well, you know I can’t resist the vintage!
Because the name of the Kit Club is based on the road where Kerry Lynn grew up, they’re asking us to tell a story about the street where we grew up.
I moved around a lot as a kid, so there are a bunch of streets to choose from… and I’m choosing Florida Avenue in Appleton, Wisconsin. We moved to Appleton when I was in second grade… November I think. We lived across the street from the church where my dad was a pastor and the school we went to. The neighborhood had lots of kids our age so we were never without playmates.
In the winter, we’d go sledding, make forts, have snowball fights and just have fun in the snow.
In the warmer months, you’d see kids outside ALL the time. This was 15+ years ago, and was a time when parents would let the kids go outside in the morning and wouldn’t see us again til lunch or even dinner. The moms all knew each other and would call around if they really needed us home, but for the most part, we’d play all day long. The church bells rang at noon, and that was usually the sign to get home for some nourishment before hitting the streets with our bikes, roller blades and skateboards.
I remember one day we had a neighborhood-wide water fight. Armed with super soakers and water balloons, we’d bike all over the area, attacking each other with our water guns and balloons. It’s memories like this that will stay with me forever.
Wow, so there’s my little story about Florida Avenue. Now, head over to Kenner Road (it opens tomorrow) and sign up for your kit! I got in on the first month and can’t WAIT to get my vintage goodies. I have a feeling I’ll be scrapping stuff along with things from Fairy Davis. Oooo, fabulous combo. Don’t forget to check out the CT blogs here and here and here and here and here.
